Position Overview

ROOST Detroit is seeking a seasoned, guestcentric Front Office Director to lead all frontofhouse operations and ensure a seamless, elevated experience for every guest. This role oversees the full Front Office team—including front desk, concierge, and guest services—and partners closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Property Leadership to uphold ROOST’s service standards.

The ideal candidate is a polished communicator, a strategic thinker, and a handson leader who thrives in a designdriven environment and understands how to balance operational excellence with genuine hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all frontofhouse operations, ensuring a warm, efficient, and brandaligned guest experience
  • Oversee the Front Office leadership team, including Front Office Manager, Supervisors, and Guest Service Associates
  • Develop and implement service standards, SOPs, and training programs that reflect ROOST’s elevated hospitality ethos
  • Maintain a strong presence in the lobby and public spaces, modeling guest engagement and service excellence
  • Partner with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Property Leadership to ensure seamless communication and operational flow
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll, and performance management for the Front Office team
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of frontofhouse staff
  • Manage guest recovery efforts with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Ensure accuracy in reporting, billing, and financial controls related to Front Office operations
  • Analyze guest feedback, operational data, and service trends to drive continuous
  • improvement
  • Support propertywide initiatives, brand standards, and special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of hotel front office experience, with at least 2 years in a management or directorlevel role
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams
  • Exceptional communication and guestservice skills
  • Experience in boutique, lifestyle, or luxury hospitality strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with hotel PMS/reservation systems and operational reporting
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
