The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide expert mental health services, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning. This patient-focused role involves managing therapeutic interventions and prescribing medications, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive mental health care. Ideal candidates will have a compassionate approach and a commitment to improving patient outcomes. Bilingual Spanish speaking Psych NPs already enrolled in Medicaid are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Perform thorough psychiatric assessments and patient evaluations.
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed.
- Educate patients and families regarding psychiatric conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain meticulous documentation aligning with healthcare regulatory standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and case conferences.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Master's degree in Nursing, specialized in Psychiatric-Mental Health.
EXPERIENCES AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing.
- Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills across a variety of psychiatric disorders.
- Ability to establish effective therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
