Position Overview:

The Customer Service and Operations Quality Engineer is responsible for manufacturing quality assurance and spare parts fulfillment for SmartFlower GmbH. Based in Pinkafeld, Austria, this role is central to ensuring manufacturing quality, supporting service partners, and continually improving manufacturing and after-sales service.

The role requires close collaboration with Austria-based Sales, Service, and Operations teams, as well as regular coordination with product development and leadership teams in Boston, USA. Travel of up to 20% is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own manufacturing engineering and quality assurance at SmartFlower production sites.
  • Implement engineering changes, conduct factory audits, qualify suppliers, and resolve quality deviations.
  • Manage SmartFlower spare parts inventory, including shipping, receiving, and stock optimization
  • Identify and lead initiatives to improve manufacturing quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
  • Support field service activities in the EMEA region, including escalation management and on-site visits when required
  • Maintain and expand relationships with suppliers, service partners, resellers, and direct customers to identify product improvement opportunities
  • Define, track, and report key operational KPIs, including yield, quality escapes, and BOM cost
  • Support product development efforts for existing and future SmartFlower systems, including validation and testing of new features and accessories

Requirements

  • Completed technical education (HTL, University of Applied Sciences, Technical University, or equivalent)
  • Experience in manufacturing quality engineering, supplier quality, or operations management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured working style
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and strong German language skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Valid EU work authorization
