Junior Fullstack Engineer

Robots & Pencils is seeking a Junior Full-Stack Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team building an AI-powered workforce coordination platform that automates real-time crew assembly through intelligent voice interactions and backend decisioning systems.

We are looking for a motivated developer who will contribute to both front-end and mobile application development, as well as backend integration work. This role works within an established architecture under strong technical leadership, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver a production-ready platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front-end features and mobile application interfaces for the platform
• Integrate front-end and mobile components with backend APIs, WebSocket server, and callout services
• Contribute to backend logic and service integrations under the guidance of senior engineers
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to implement UI/UX aligned with product requirements
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Support testing, debugging, and iterative improvement of application features

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience or coursework in both front-end/mobile and backend development
• Familiarity in modern front-end frameworks and/or mobile development tools
• Familiarity with REST APIs and client-server communication patterns
• Basic understanding of backend development and database concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Exposure to AWS services (Bonus: AWS Bedrock, ECS, DynamoDB)
• Familiarity with WebSocket-based or real-time systems
• Experience with Twilio or similar communication platforms
• Awareness of AI/LLM-based products or voice interfaces
• Prior internship or co-op experience in a software development environment
