We are delighted to be launching Paramount Place, our brand-new city-centre retirement village in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, and we are looking for an experienced and passionate Housekeeping Supervisor to join our opening team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the housekeeping operation from day one within a vibrant, exclusive retirement community that will feature beautifully designed resident spaces alongside a busy high street restaurant and welcoming communal areas with increased public footfall.
As a brand-new site, this will initially be a hands-on role, where you will lead by example while building, developing and growing your housekeeping team as residents move in and the village continues to expand.
Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- 5 days over 7
- Flexibility required to work shifts between 8am and 8pm
About the Role
As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, safe and beautifully maintained environment for residents, visitors and guests. You will be a strong people manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional standards across both private and public-facing spaces.
You will oversee the day-to-day housekeeping operation, manage rotas and staffing, and ensure your team consistently delivers a high-quality service with professionalism, warmth and attention to detail.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building teams, leading from the front and being part of an exciting new opening within a hospitality-led retirement community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the housekeeping team, setting high standards and leading by example
- Manage staffing levels and rotas to ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness standards throughout residents’ apartments and communal areas
- Oversee the presentation and cleanliness of public-facing spaces, including lounges, corridors and restaurant-adjacent areas
- Support laundry services, including washing, drying and folding residents’ clothing and linen
- Ensure waste and recycling are disposed of correctly and efficiently
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and arrange replenishment where required
- Respond professionally and compassionately to resident, visitor and guest requests
- Help create a warm, welcoming and polished environment throughout the village
About You
- Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience is essential
- Experience working within hospitality, residential, healthcare or high-footfall environments would be advantageous
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional standards
- Professional, approachable and resident-focused manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible, hands-on and adaptable approach within a growing environment
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a wider team
