Operates a nationally recognized integrative medical practice with multiple clinic locations and a global telehealth platform, and has built a community of over 1 million followers across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Podcast platforms. Digital ecosystem, spanning brand websites, a wellness commerce platform, and a membership community, is a central part of how they serve and grow that audience.

About the Role

We’re looking for a versatile WordPress & Shopify Developer to own and elevate our entire digital web presence. You’ll be the go-to technical resource across both our content and commerce platforms, building fast, reliable, high-converting experiences for an audience of over 1 million people.

This is a hands-on role that blends front-end craft, systems thinking, and a passion for wellness, with a strong focus on UX/UI, SEO, geo-targeting, and AI-driven visibility.

Responsibilities

WordPress — Site Development & Maintenance

• Own and maintain WordPress brand sites, ensuring uptime, speed, and reliability

• Build and update page templates and landing pages using Thrive

• Implement custom PHP, JavaScript, and CSS to extend theme and plugin functionality

• Manage plugin audits, WordPress updates, and security patches

• Configure and troubleshoot WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, booking systems, and membership plugins

Shopify — Storefront & Commerce

• Build and maintain Shopify storefronts using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Develop and customize Shopify 2.0 themes with modular sections/blocks for marketing teams

• Build high-converting product, collection, and landing pages

• Implement subscriptions, upsells, and cross-sells using Appstle, QPilot (Autoship), or Shopify Subscriptions

• Integrate and configure apps (Klaviyo, Gorgias, reviews, loyalty tools)

• Build custom solutions via Shopify Admin REST API and GraphQL

Performance, SEO & AI Visibility

• Optimize Core Web Vitals (caching, CDN, image optimization, script loading)

• Implement technical SEO (schema, metadata, sitemaps, redirects)

• Optimize sites for geo-targeting and localized search visibility

• Improve AI discoverability (AEO - Answer Engine Optimization) across LLM-driven search (e.g., structured data, semantic content readiness, entity optimization)

• Ensure content is structured for AI indexing and retrieval (RAG-friendly content patterns)

• Set up and maintain GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel with accurate event tracking

Integrations & Collaboration

• Manage integrations with CRM, email marketing (Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign), and membership tools

• Work closely with designers and marketers to deliver pixel-perfect, responsive pages

• Translate creative into high-performing, conversion-focused experiences

• Document systems, workflows, and configurations

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with WordPress and Shopify

• Strong proficiency in PHP, Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

• Experience with Thrive

• Solid understanding of WordPress architecture (hooks, filters, REST API, CPTs)

• Strong knowledge of Shopify 2.0 and Liquid templating

• Experience with e-commerce workflows (WooCommerce + Shopify)

• Familiarity with Shopify APIs (REST, GraphQL)

• Experience optimizing for SEO, site performance, and web analytics

• Understanding of geo-targeting and AI/LLM search visibility best practices

• Version control (Git/GitHub) and responsive design principles

Nice to Have

• Experience with health, wellness, or DTC brands

• Familiarity with HIPAA-related compliance

• Experience with membership platforms (MemberPress, Restrict Content Pro)

• Knowledge of subscription tools (Appstle, QPilot, ReCharge, Skio)

• Experience with headless architectures (WordPress or Shopify)

• Exposure to AI search optimization, semantic SEO, or structured content for LLMs

• Basic design sensibility and experience with Figma
