Inventory Cycle Counter

Posted 2 months ago

OfficeWilliamston, South Carolina, United States

BMarko Structures is seeking a meticulous Inventory Cycle Counter who takes pride in accuracy and understands the impact of inventory on production success to join our steel modular structure manufacturing team. In this role, you will be the guardian of data integrity, ensuring that our physical steel components and assembly hardware perfectly align with our digital records. You aren't just "counting parts"—you are providing the visibility necessary to prevent production bottlenecks and ensure our large-scale structural projects remain on track.

Key Responsibilities

Auditing & Data Accuracy

● Cycle Counting: Execute daily scheduled physical counts of raw steel, fasteners, misc. parts, and structural components to ensure the digital database matches the physical shelf.

● Discrepancy Research: Investigate variances between physical counts and system records to identify root causes such as shipping errors or scanning omissions.

● Documentation: Maintain precise logs of all audits and update inventory records within the ERP system to reflect real-time on-hand quantities.

Inventory Control & Support

● Stocking & Organization: Assist in the orderly arrangement of incoming steel shipments and hardware using "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) methodology to maximize floor space.

● Waste Identification: Monitor and report on damaged materials or stagnant stock to help management implement cost-saving measures and reduce scrap.

● Procurement Support: Alert the management team when physical counts reveal low-stock levels on critical structural items to trigger timely purchase orders.

Required Qualifications & Skills

● Experience: 2+ years in inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse auditing, ideally within a heavy manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.

● Technical Savvy: Proficiency with Inventory Management Software (ERP/MRP) and the ability to navigate complex spreadsheets.

● Organization: Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to repetitive tasks are essential.

● Physical Stamina: Ability to navigate a large production floor, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 35 lbs as needed to access materials.

● Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate inventory discrepancies with both shop floor leads and procurement staff.

Why This Role Matters

In the world of steel modular construction, an undetected inventory error can lead to a complete standstill of the assembly line. Your vigilance ensures that when our craftsmen reach for a structural beam or a specific grade of bolt, it is exactly where the system says it should be.

Note to Applicants: This position requires high accountability and an unwavering commitment to accuracy. You are the primary gatekeeper of our material truth and play a critical role in our daily operational success.
