Job Title: Medical Biller

Location: South Africa

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and patients for services rendered, ensuring adherence to all billing regulations.
  • Review and follow up on outstanding claims, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation, updating patient and payer information as necessary.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and patients to clarify and resolve billing issues.
  • Monitor payment trends and assist in maintaining accounts receivable to ensure optimal cash flow.
  • Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and reimbursement policies to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Medical Billing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
  • Proficient in various billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and payer requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills in order to efficiently handle billing processes.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and patients.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while juggling multiple tasks.
