Reporting to:  Head of Content (Golf)
Location: Glasgow, Dundee, or Aberdeen
Ways of Working:  Hybrid; 1 day a week in the Glasgow office
Contract Type: Permanent

bunkered, part of DC Thomson media company, is looking for an Equipment Editor to lead our golf gear coverage across all platforms.  

This role combines editorial flair, product expertise, and audience engagement, maintaining bunkered’s reputation as a trusted authority on golf equipment.

bunkered is one of the UK's leading golf media brands and produces content across print magazines, digital, video, social media, and Apple News.

The ideal candidate should be equal parts gear expert and storyteller – someone who understands the golf equipment landscape and can translate that knowledge into high-performing gear content that drives traffic, engagement, and commerce. 

You will own our equipment vertical, working closely with external agencies and equipment brands to deliver best-in-class golf gear content. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the Head of Content to develop editorial strategy for golf equipment coverage across web, video, social, newsletters, and podcasts
  • Write, film and edit product reviews, launch coverage, explainers, and buyer’s guides
  • Manage relationships with equipment manufacturers, PR teams, and industry insiders
  • Attend product launches, demo days, and industry events to report on new gear
  • Analyse audience data and search trends to guide equipment content strategy
  • Contribute to larger editorial projects, features, and tentpole golf events when relevant 
  • Maintain credibility and transparency through trusted, independent gear coverage

Requirements

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

Essential 

  • Deep knowledge of golf equipment and the golf industry
  • Play golf to a demonstrably high standard to competently test and review equipment and accessories
  • Strong writing and front-of-camera skills with a digital-first mindset
  • Experience producing content across multiple platforms (web, social, video)
  • Strong industry contacts or the ability to quickly build relationships within the equipment space
  • Clean and valid UK driving licence and the ability to travel internationally

 

Preferred 

  • Experience conducting club testing or fitting analysis 
  • Background in YouTube, short-form video, or social storytelling 
  • Understanding of launch cycles and the golf equipment business 
  • Familiarity with SEO, analytics, and audience development
