Sigma Defense is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work in support of the Army for the Network Modernization & Mission Network Technical Service Support program (NetMod). NetMod sets forth the work efforts required to provide product technical support services for systems and equipment being produced, fielded, modified or supported by PdM Network Modernization (NetMod) and PdM Mission Network of the Project Manager (PM) Tactical Network (TN) of the Program Executive Office for Command Control and Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T). This support may also include future systems and equipment that is acquired for the Army to maintain its technological advantage.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience as a System Engineer or performing System Engineer related activities.
  • 5+ years in the Department of Defense supporting systems engineering technologies is highly preferred.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, reliable communication networks in dynamic, military or field-based environments
  • Experienced with integrating existing infrastructures with new tactical network components.
  • Experience with managing network connectivity between various platforms like ground vehicles, airborne assets, and command centers.
  • Ability to break systems into major components and subcomponents and understand the interfaces between them.
  • Ability to design systems and components with a logical modular design with logical/standard interfaces to provide scalability and change when needed.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD 8570/8410 IAT Level II.
  • Familiarity with selecting appropriate network protocols and technologies for specific mission needs, including data link layers, routing protocols, and encryption mechanisms.
  • Experience with testing methodologies for embedded systems, integration testing, and systems-level testing.
  • Familiarity with the utilization of simulation tools to analyze system performance under various scenarios.
  • Experience with hardware interfacing.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to accurately communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science from an accredited college or university in an unspecified field of study.
  • Industry certifications and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • A clearance will not be sponsored.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Interact with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements/design.
  • Participate in the development of test strategies.
  • Assist in developing solutions to systems engineering challenges based on technology insertion and new product integration.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Tactical Network hardware and software systems as they relate to large-scale battlefield communications at all echelons.
  • Install (load) the unit specific configurations (configs)/Internet Protocols (IP) which are based on the latest unit System Architecture and the Lightweight Directory Interchange Format (LDIF).
  • Ensure that PdM NetMod and PdM Mission Network systems are Fully Mission Capable (FMC) following Initial Fielding, Reset or Upgrade and are therefore ready for the unit and ready to be utilized for missions.

Salary Range: $145,000 - $209,000 annually.
