The Intermediate Electrical Engineer independently executes electrical engineering work for major capital and sustaining capital projects in mining and heavy industrial environments. The role includes electrical system design, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and accountability for engineered deliverables. A strong commitment to safety and sound engineering judgment is essential.

This is a rotational mine-site position (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 11-hour days in camp). Work is performed on a remote mining site with full camp accommodation provided during rotation periods.

Travel to site is via scheduled flights departing from Saskatoon only. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to arrange and travel to Saskatoon on their own to connect with these flights.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong personal safety culture and comply with all safety programs and regulatory requirements.
• Perform electrical design for low, medium, and high voltage systems, including power distribution, motor control, and generation systems.
• Apply mining and heavy industrial electrical design standards and best practices.
• Independently lead electrical engineering scope on assigned projects and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Develop and review Scopes of Work (SOW) for electrical installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination.
• Prepare and update engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and equipment lists.
• Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor/shop drawing reviews.
• Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.

Requirements

• Electrical Technologist.
• 4–9 years of experience in mining, industrial, or heavy infrastructure environments
• Required Qualifications
• Experience developing scopes of work for electrical projects in industrial, mining, or heavy infrastructure environments
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating and revising electrical drawings
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Preferred / Asset Qualifications
• Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments, particularly underground operations
• Field experience supporting construction, commissioning, or maintenance activities
• Experience with PLC programming, instrumentation, and industrial networking
• Previous experience working at remote or safety-sensitive industrial sites
