Job Description:

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Arizona. This role reports directly to the Material Planning Manager.

You Will:

  • Develop and communicate supply requirements to Lucid’s supply base, managing over 200 Tier 1 suppliers and 6,000+ parts using MRP systems to achieve production, inventory, and cost targets.
  • Serve as the main operational contact for assigned suppliers, maintaining effective relationships, and overseeing delivery status, issue resolution, and performance updates.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance while supporting improvement initiatives such as lead time reduction.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments including Purchasing, New Product Introduction, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Logistics to resolve material issues and support launches.
  • Proactively communicate material concerns across all organization levels, addressing shipment issues, and minimizing impacts on stakeholders.
  • Provide production support through clear-to-build status, material coverage analysis, run-out reports, and other insights.
  • Deliver data-driven recommendations and scenario analyses to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Optimize system parameters, inventory levels, and service goals using analytical skills to control costs and minimize obsolescence, including reviewing inventory and adjusting orders for replenishment.
  • Support supplier performance improvement by partnering with the Global Supply Purchasing team to implement action plans and update supplier scorecards.
  • Lead meetings on material shortages, supplier constraints, and performance metrics; oversee resource allocation and ensure adherence to established processes, metrics, and assignments.

You Have:

  • Must have a High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 6 years of material planning experience and 2 years of Account Management or Supplier Management experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Analytical skills to address and resolve production schedule issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of MRP processes, SAP, and supply chain operations including discrete manufacturing and product lifecycle management.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of presenting clear recommendations to leadership.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, Excel, and Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a results-driven mindset
  • Bilingual Mandarin speaker preferred
This is a mid shift role (Hours are 11am-8pm)
