Own the general ledger, monthly close process, and preparation of internal and external financial reports.
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and support audit and tax processes.
Build and document scalable accounting policies and procedures tailored to a fintech/lending environment.
Financial Operations
Oversee loan-level transaction flows, capital movements, and reconciliation across banking and servicing platforms.
Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial operations.
Partner with operations and product teams to ensure accurate accounting for lending activities, including interest, fees, and loan servicing.
Prepare and deliver servicing reports for loan investors that cover loan performance, delinquencies, and other key portfolio metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with product and engineering to align financial data architecture with business needs.
Collaborate with external partners (e.g. banks, auditors, servicers) to support financial transparency and compliance.
Contribute to company-wide financial planning and analysis efforts.
Systems & Scalability
Evaluate and implement accounting systems and tools to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy.
Identify opportunities for automation across reporting, reconciliations, and treasury functions.
Support the build-out of a robust finance tech stack that scales with business growth.
What We’re Looking For
7+ years of accounting or finance operations experience, ideally with a mix of fintech and traditional financial services.
Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks.
Experience managing accounting for financial products—ideally lending, credit cards, or securitized assets.
High attention to detail and an ownership mindset.
CPA required; experience at a high-growth startup or public accounting a plus.
Bonus: Familiarity with home equity products, credit card accounting, or securitization structures.
