Business Intelligence Intern

R2Net is a diamond bridal jewelry company with a technology soul. R2Net Inc. is an innovative technology company that provides e-commerce and supply chain platforms to connect the entire span of the diamond industry ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers, and consumers. 
 
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Intern who will be responsible for partnering with Business Intelligence leaders to investigate strategic business questions, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations. As part of this role, the Business Intelligence Intern will handle data analysis, dashboard development, and analytical reporting. Additionally, managing project deliverables, stakeholder collaboration, and clear communication of findings are integral parts of the position. The ideal candidate for this role will bring strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and communication skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while learning new tools and business domains. 

Responsibilities: 

• Partner with Business Intelligence leaders to investigate strategic business questions. 

• Take ownership of one defined project aligned to current priorities, such as:  

• Assortment optimization and uniqueness scoring methodologies 

• Performance scorecards for showroom and sales advisors 

• Dashboard certification, design standardization, and strategic enhancement 

• Proactive alerting and documentation for critical pipelines and reports 

• Use data to identify trends, surface insights, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations. 

• Design, build, or enhance dashboards and analytical views using Tableau (or similar tools), following established design and reporting standards. 

• Collaborate closely with mentors across Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Engineering, and business teams. 

• Communicate progress, challenges, and learnings throughout the internship. 

• Deliver a final capstone presentation summarizing your approach, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders. 

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or business‑focused field such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. 

• Experience with at least one of the following:  

• SQL or relational databases 

• Data analysis in Excel, Google Sheets, Python, or R 

• Data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI 

• Data science and statistics training 

• Comfort learning new tools, frameworks, or business domains with support and guidance. This requires strong analytical and problem-solving skillsets. 

• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail. 

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate data into business insights. 

• Ability to work full‑time, on‑site in New York City, for the full 8‑week internship period 

Benefits

Hourly base pay: $17.00-20.00 for applicants pursuing Bachelor's degree, and $20.00-23.50 for applicants pursuing Master's degree and above. Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications. At this time, R2NET will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
