ROLE OVERVIEW
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for the lending industry? We are looking for a reliable Mortgage Loan Processor & Broker Assistant to join our growing advisory team.
In this hands-on, process-driven role, you will be the engine behind our loan applications. You’ll manage the end-to-end loan lifecycle—from initial documentation to settlement—ensuring a seamless experience for our clients and lenders. This is a perfect fit for an intermediate professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment and wants to add immediate value to an expanding business.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comprehensive Loan Lifecycle Management
- Application Lodgment: Package and submit "Right First Time" loan applications via ApplyOnline or Lendi, ensuring all lender-specific checklists are met.
- Pipeline Tracking: Proactively manage the loan pipeline from initial enquiry through to unconditional approval and settlement, ensuring no milestones are missed.
- Condition Clearing: Take ownership of "More Info" requests from credit assessors, liaising with clients to gather additional data and resolve queries swiftly.
- Valuations & Pricing: Order property valuations and request interest rate discounts (pricing requests) to ensure the best client outcomes.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- NCCP Adherence: Ensure all files meet Responsible Lending guidelines and internal compliance standards (e.g., Fact Finds, Credit Guide, and BID).
- Document Verification: Perform rigorous checks on PAYG slips, tax returns, and bank statements to verify income and expenses against lender credit policies.
- Data Integrity: Maintain "source of truth" accuracy within MyCRM, ensuring all client data is audit-ready and current.
- Stakeholder & Third-Party Liaison
- Lender Relations: Act as the professional bridge between the broker and lender credit departments to expedite file processing.
- Settlement Coordination: Work closely with solicitors, conveyancers, and outgoing banks to ensure a smooth property settlement and discharge process.
- Founder Partnership: Maintain daily syncs with the Principal Broker to prioritize urgent files and provide high-level updates on high-net-worth applications.
- Operations & Business Support
- SOP Maintenance: Follow and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve the efficiency of the backend processing desk.
- Post-Settlement Care: Support the "client for life" workflow by managing post-settlement tasks, including thanking referrers and setting up future review reminders.
- Problem Solving: Identify process bottlenecks and implement digital tools or workflows to reduce the Time-to-Approval (TTA).
Requirements
Mandatory Criteria (Non-Negotiable)
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated experience in NZ mortgage loan processing or as a Broker Assistant.
- Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in MyCRM is strictly required.
- System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with NZ FSG (Financial Services Group) systems and workflows.
- Market Expertise: A deep understanding of the New Zealand mortgage lending landscape, including lender-specific documentation and workflows.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English. You must be comfortable with phone-based discussions and direct, high-level collaboration with the founder.
- Environment: Proven ability to work independently and maintain high productivity in a 100% remote setup.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience supporting a Registered Financial Adviser (RFA/FSP) in New Zealand.
- Strong familiarity with NZ compliance standards and recent financial advisory regulatory changes.
