Position Title: Bookkeeper

Salary: up to 1,800 NZD per month

Work Schedule: 8:30AM-5:30PM NZST

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper with experience in Xero and New Zealand accounting practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring compliance with relevant NZ regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Process invoices, payments, and payroll (if applicable)
• Prepare and manage GST returns in accordance with New Zealand regulations
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Generate financial reports as required
• Liaise with accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with New Zealand financial and tax requirements

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role

• Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software
• Solid understanding of New Zealand accounting standards and GST
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with New Zealand-based clients or companies
• Relevant accounting or bookkeeping certification
• Experience handling multiple entities or accounts
