Role Overview
OpenAI is seeking a Transportation Operations Coordinator (Contract) to support the daily execution of employee transportation programs in San Francisco. Reporting to the Transportation Operations Manager, this role focuses on morning operations, system management, and employee support to help ensure a smooth and reliable commute experience.
This is a hands-on, operations-focused role supporting parking, shuttle, and mobility programs through real-time coordination and communication.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations Support
Monitor and support morning transportation operations, including shuttle service, routing issues, and vendor coordination
Manage live operations through transportation and communication tools (e.g., Wayleadr, Slack, email, etc.
Help ensure operational readiness across all commute programs at the start of day
Provide operational support for charter transportation
Transportation Operations & Access Coordination
Support daily transportation operations across parking, shuttle, and bike programs, including utilization tracking and service coordination. Assist with program access, policy guidance, and operational support across parking, EV charging, shuttle, and bike services
Help manage same-day changes, releases, and employee requests across transportation programs to support a smooth commute experience
Employee Communications
Provide responsive support to employees via Slack and email during commute hours
Communicate real-time updates related to transportation programs, delays, and service changes.Support employee onboarding, access questions, and troubleshooting across transportation programs and tools.
Administrative & Reporting Support
Track daily transportation activity, service issues, and key operational updates.
Maintain accurate records to support service continuity across parking, shuttle, and bike programs. Support shift handoffs and follow-up coordination related to transportation operations
Schedule & Coverage Expectations
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Onsite presence required 5 days per week
Participate in alternating weekend on-call coverage (Slack, email, escalations)
Support peak morning commute hours
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in operations, logistics, or customer support
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in fast-paced environments
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable learning and using tools that support transportation operations, employee communications, and access management.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting transportation, workplace, or facilities operations
Familiarity with tools like Wayleadr, EV charging platforms, JIRA, or other operational tools.
Experience working and coordinating with vendors and supporting real time operations.
