Internship - Laser Systems

Summary:

The Laser Systems team at QuEra is responsible for the design, deployment, and operation of laser infrastructure across our quantum processing units. This intern will work directly on a high-priority R&D project developing a next-generation QPU laser systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and characterize multi-tone RF signal generation for high-speed optical modulator systems
  • Design and assemble a multi-channel optical modulator system, including optical and electronic integration
  • Build and test broadband microwave modulation circuits; evaluate RFSoC-based control architectures
  • Perform quantitative optical measurements and document results in internal technical reports

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with FPGA and other embedded control systems.
  • Experience with RF/microwave electronics or electro-optic/acousto-optic modulators is a plus
  • Hands-on optical alignment experience in a research lab setting is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong evidence of independent work.
  • Background in AMO physics or quantum optics preferred.

On-site internship. There is no relocation offered for this role.
