Position Title: Junior Project Cost Estimator
Location: On-Site at CLMI Client Los Angeles Unified School District: Los Angeles, CA - (On-Site) - Candidate must be willing and able to commute to the LAUSD worksite and make site visits as required.

Essential Job Duties
● Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.
● Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish negotiating position.
● Provide support in price negotiations.
● Prepare claim analysis and estimates.
● Prepare detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications, and sketches.
● Assist in reviewing contractor’s claims and proposals for merit and accountability.
● Conduct research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services.
Requirements
Professional Experience Level/Minimum Qualifications
● Two (2) years of full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or school construction.
● Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs.
● Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders.
● Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differences.
● Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal.
● Good oral and written communication skills.
● Strong fact-finding and in-depth analytical skills.
Education/Training
● Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.

The offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $114,000-124,000.
