Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Test Team Lead to drive test delivery within a large-scale, complex programme environment. This role will operate as a key part of the test leadership structure, supporting the Test Manager while taking ownership of day-to-day test execution, team leadership, and quality assurance across multiple workstreams.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong capability in developing and coordinating end-to-end testing activities, ensuring alignment across FAT, SAT, SIT and Operational Readiness Testing (ORT), and supporting pilot and go-live phases.
This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring strong delivery focus, team management, and the ability to operate within a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder programme.
The role is primarily onsite, with a requirement to be in the office five days per week, along with some travel as required.”
Key Responsibilities
Test Execution & Delivery:
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day testing activities across assigned workstreams
- Ensure test cases are designed, reviewed, and executed to a high standard
- Ensure full traceability to requirements
- Oversee execution across testing phases (FAT, SAT, SIT)
- Support Operational Readiness Testing (ORT)
- Support pilot and go-live testing phases
Test Management & Control:
- Track test progress, defects, and quality metrics
- Manage defect lifecycle including triage and resolution tracking
- Ensure test environments, data, and dependencies are aligned
- Identify and escalate risks and issues impacting delivery
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and support Test Analysts / QA Engineers
- Allocate work effectively and manage priorities
- Drive high performance across the team, including managing underperformance and supporting strong performers
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement
Stakeholder & Programme Alignment:
- Work closely with Test Manager, Project Managers, and delivery teams
- Act as key interface between testing and delivery teams
- Provide clear status reporting to stakeholders
- Ensure alignment with programme timelines and milestones
Requirements
Key Requirements
Testing & Delivery Experience:
- Proven experience in a Test Lead / Senior Test Analyst role within complex programme environments
- Strong experience across FAT, SAT, SIT
- Experience supporting ORT, pilot, and go-live phases
Tools & Methods:
- Strong experience with JIRA or equivalent tools
- Understanding of test management frameworks and traceability
Team Leadership:
- Experience leading test teams in structured environments
- Ability to manage workload, priorities, and team performance
Delivery Environment:
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder programmes with tight timelines
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
