    •  Senior Associate, Grade 15:  $65,172 – $86,898, plus a performance-based incentive
    • Advisor, Grade 16: $74,297 - $99,063, plus a performance-based incentive

Position & Team Overview

FinDev Canada is seeking a Senior Associate/Advisor to support enterprise‑wide strategic initiatives and corporate strategy development.

This is a unique opportunity for an analytically strong, intellectually curious professional interested in strategic problem solving at the intersection of finance, development, and public policy. The Senior Associate/Advisor will work alongside senior leadership on some of the organization’s most complex and consequential questions—helping diagnose challenges, develop strategic options, and synthesize insights that shape decision making at the enterprise level.

What You’ll Be Doing

Corporate Strategy & Analysis: Research and structure complex strategic questions, analyze options and trade‑offs, and translate early ideas into decision‑ready recommendations.

Market Research: Research market, sector trends, geopolitical, and policy trends to inform strategic choices, positioning, and medium‑term direction.

Policy & External Environment Insight: Monitor and assess policy, geopolitical, macroeconomic, and development finance trends to inform FinDev Canada’s strategic positioning.

Strategic Planning & Governance Support: Produce executive‑ready strategy decks, research briefs, and benchmarking analysis supporting corporate planning and decision‑making.

Strategic Initiatives & Alliances Execution: Support delivery of major strategic initiatives and cross‑sector alliances through research, content development, analysis, and disciplined execution.

Project Management & Communication: coordinate cross‑team inputs, manage strategic initiatives, and produce clear, investor‑grade written materials for senior and external audiences.

What We’re Looking For

Must‑Haves

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, public policy, international development, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Senior Associate: minimum 2 years of professional experience in strategy, consulting, finance, public policy, or a related field.
    • Advisor: minimum of 5 years of professional experience in strategy, consulting, finance, public policy, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated exposure to strategic analysis, research, or advisory work.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem‑solving ability, with experience structuring ambiguous questions and developing practical insights.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (financial or analytical modeling, scenario analysis) and PowerPoint (clear, executive‑level materials).
  • Communication: Excellent writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Organization: Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice‑to‑Haves

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in development finance, global affairs, or public‑sector strategy.
  • Exposure to development finance institutions, international organizations, or financial institutions.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership or governance‑level processes.
