PRIVATE BANK ASSOCIATE (Edinburgh)

As a Private Banking Associate, you’ll help our Private Bankers deliver the day-to-day service that keeps relationships strong and clients supported. You’ll be a trusted point of contact, handling payments, account activity and client instructions, while keeping admin and documentation accurate and on time. It’s a role where details matter, and where your work helps us grow lending, deposits and wider banking services through long-term, human relationships.

Why Weatherbys

We’re a long‑established private bank with a modern outlook and a strong focus on doing the right thing for clients. Our financial planning team values technical rigour, thoughtful problem‑solving and collaboration.

You’ll be trusted to focus on your work, supported by experienced colleagues, and given the space to do your job well. We invest in our people and support long‑term careers, whether you want to continue developing as a highly skilled paraplanner or explore an advice path over time.

Both routes are valued here. What matters is doing high‑quality work and contributing to strong outcomes for clients.

What sets this role apart

  • You’ll be close to clients and close to the detail, supporting real outcomes every day.
  • Work across lending, deposits and wider banking products.
  • Trusted to handle client instructions and keep things moving smoothly.
  • Help Private Bankers grow relationships through great service and follow-through.
  • You’ll be part of a client-facing support team that helps the bank run well day to day.

What you'll be doing

  • Handling daily client queries by phone and email.
  • Executing client instructions, including payments and account activity.
  • Setting up new client accounts and completing documentation accurately.
  • Preparing credit applications and supporting lending and security documentation.
  • Managing account administration, including transfers, cards and reporting.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in customer service, with a natural “clients first” approach.
  • Strong admin skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence working to clear processes in a regulated environment.
  • A positive, practical mindset and willingness to muck in.
  • An eye for improvement, you spot inefficiencies and suggest better ways of working.

Our commitment to inclusion

At Weatherbys Banking Group, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to thrive. We believe that different perspectives and lived experiences make us stronger, and we actively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and communities.

As a proud Disability Confident Committed employer, we’re dedicated to creating an environment that’s accessible and inclusive for all. If you have a disability and meet the minimum criteria for the role, you’ll be guaranteed an interview. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know we are here to support you.
