- Schedules all office visits, in-office procedures, and operating room procedures; including pre-operation appointments.
- Provides outside facility with authorization information.
- Assists surgical team, including but not limited to; reviewing paperwork and pre-procedure instructions with patient, ensuring required information is routed to pre-op department prior to surgery, and obtaining applicable historical information prior to consult.
- Communicates scheduling changes to appropriate team members.
- Calls patients to remind them of appointment time and location.
- Assist with scheduling and pre-certification duties for other practice disciplines and procedures as assigned.
- Maintains and schedules incoming referrals.
- Processes and documents insurance pre-certifications and coordination of benefits for all procedures/medications administration prior to scheduling.
- Updates patient registrations when appropriate.
- Obtains correct address information, telephone numbers and insurance information from the patient.
- Informs patient of out of pocket expenses they will be required to pay prior to scheduling procedures ensuring accurate documentation.
- Informs patient of account balances that must be paid prior to procedure.
- Collects required fees prior to procedure.
- Directs uninsured patients to the business office for information on payment requirements.
- Cross reference incoming biopsies specimens daily with a report from our EHR for accuracy.
- Ensure all biopsies ordered through our vendor were processed and received.
- Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Must be HIPAA compliant.
• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
