Senior Manager, Growth & Market Performance

Posted 2 months ago

OfficeMelbourne, VIC; Sydney, NSW

About the Team

This team is responsible for accelerating sustainable expansion across the Restaurant Marketplace - unlocking new value for customers, merchants, and the platform. We operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and experimentation. Our remit spans city-level performance, merchant-led growth opportunities, and scalable initiatives that drive demand, frequency, and long-term marketplace strength.

Within Growth, the Local Markets team focuses on winning city by city - ensuring that our strategies resonate deeply with local communities and outperform competitors on the ground. Together, we combine granular local insight with scalable growth thinking.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Growth & Market Performance to drive growth initiatives across the Restaurant Marketplace and to lead our Local Markets team across Australia and New Zealand.

This role has two core pillars; Marketplace Growth Acceleration - Identifying and executing new growth opportunities across merchants and customer value propositions to unlock incremental scale. Local Market Strategy & Execution - Defining and winning city-level strategies by operating at the lowest level of detail.

You will identify winning strategies, design bold experiments to validate new ideas, and make investment decisions that strengthen our competitive position—both locally and at scale.

This is a highly cross-functional leadership role, partnering with Marketing, Operations, Sales, Product, Analytics, and Finance to uncover and execute the growth formula that resonates with customers and merchants.

You will operate as a growth owner - comfortable shaping strategy at a high level while diving deep into data and execution mechanics. You thrive in ambiguity and can set ambitious goals that people thought are unachievable.

This will be a hybrid role with 3 days a week in Office (Melbourne / Sydney) and 2 days remote.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Define and execute city-level growth strategies to win in priority markets, identifying structural opportunities across merchant offerings, selection expansion, and customer experience
  • Translate data, first-principles thinking, and marketplace insights into clear, high-impact growth roadmaps and prioritised initiatives
  • Deep dive into data to uncover actionable insights, assess strategic and financial impact, and partner with Analytics and Finance to evaluate ROI and optimise investments
  • Design, launch, and scale experiments across pricing, merchandising, and merchant/customer value propositions—rapidly testing, learning, and iterating
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Operations, Sales, Product, and Finance, influencing stakeholders and representing the voice of the customer and local market

We’re excited about you because you have…

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, growth, product, marketplace, or general management roles
  • Proven track record of owning and scaling growth initiatives in complex environments
  • Strong marketplace intuition, ideally within multi-sided or regulated environments
  • Deep comfort operating at the lowest level of detail - advanced analytics, experimentation, dashboards
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to influence without authority
  • Strong business judgment and capital allocation instincts
  • Grit, resilience, and a bias to action in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
