About PIC

At PIC we're not just building data centers; we're reimagining how AI infrastructure gets developed, financed, and scaled by combining hyperscale-grade facilities with direct access to energy, land, and fiber at a scope that simply doesn't exist anywhere else. Backed by a best-in-class supply chain, world-class partners, and advanced partnerships with major hyperscale customers, PIC is poised to become a multi-billion dollar platform with ambitions to layer cloud, compute, and advanced manufacturing on top of our energy foundation.

If you want to work at the intersection of AI, energy, and infrastructure at a scale that will shape the next decade of compute, join our team.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join an AI Infrastructure company at inception. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on building from the ground up. You’ll build PIC’s finance function from first principles, designing the systems, processes, and insights that deliver accuracy, real-time visibility, and scalability as the company grows. You see finance not as a back-office function, but as a strategic enabler of execution and growth.

As the Controller, you will be the accounting leader of the group, and PIC’s first dedicated accounting leader: senior enough to design the function, pragmatic enough to dive into the details while operating with minimal infrastructure, and motivated by creating systems that last. Bonus if you can vibe-code your own solutions: whether that's a Python script to automate a reconciliation, a Zapier workflow to eliminate a manual handoff, or partnering directly with an engineer to build something more robust. We want someone who sees automation as part of the job, not someone else's problem.

Your mission

You will ensure that accounting records and financial information are always accurate, complete, and available. You will set a best-in-class standard from day one and grow your scope as the company expands. You are equally comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of an early stage environment and the rigour and discipline that infrastructure businesses demand.

What you’ll do

Accounting & Reporting

  • Own all aspects of accounting end-to-end across all entities of the group (USGAAP)

  • Lead the close process in coordination with our accounting partner

  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements

  • Partner with the ops and procurement teams to design and enforce spend controls

Audit, Tax & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating all audit requests and managing the year-end audit process end-to-end

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax obligations

Systems & Process

  • Expand the NetSuite, or other, roll out to the features and modules needed to support the business

  • Design and document scalable accounting processes and workflows, with an eye toward the addition of new projects and entities over time

CFO Partnership

  • Partner with the CFO to provide financial insights that support strategic and operational decision-making

About you

  • CPA-qualified, with a background in audit that has given you a strong command of USGAAP

  • Proven track record managing a full monthly close cycle, from journal entries to financial statements

  • Prior experience in an infrastructure or asset-heavy industry is required - data centers, energy or utilities

  • Prior experience in public co’s preferred

  • Familiar with multi-entity group structures and knowledge of intercompany accounting

  • Advanced working knowledge of NetSuite, or other

  • You have built a finance platform from scratch in an early-stage environment

  • You are comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and navigating ambiguity

  • You take ownership of your workstreams while genuinely enjoying collaboration with the broader team

  • You are hardworking, rigorous and deeply intolerant of inaccuracy

What success looks like in 6 months

  • A clean, audit-ready close process is in place and running on time every month

  • The fixed asset register accurately reflects the group's growing asset base, with robust capitalization policies documented and enforced

  • Vendor payment and PO workflows are operating with strong controls and clear accountability

  • The first external audit is set to be completed smoothly, with no material findings

  • You are a trusted financial partner to the CFO and the broader leadership team

Process

  • Intro call w/Margarida Garcia, Co-founder

  • Team-fit call w/Molly Anderson, Senior Manager Talent Acquisition & People Ops

  • Deep-dive interview and case study w/Margarida, Matthieu Bertho, Head of Finance (poolside ai), and Noah Reitz, Finance Director
