About the Role
You'll be the senior reference point for mobile engineering inside our Tbilisi hub and the bridge to our Germany-based Flutter team. You'll own and ship major feature releases, drive architecture decisions on state management and modularisation, mentor mid-level engineers as they ramp, and reduce the frequency of escalations into Germany for non-trivial mobile decisions.
The bar at 12 months is at least three major feature releases shipped end-to-end (design through App Store and Play Store), crash-free rate above 99.5%, and a measurable mentorship outcome with at least one junior or mid-level engineer.
In Phase 1, this role is internal-facing (no DACH C-level client contact). In Phase 2, scope can expand to selected client cadences for mobile-heavy engagements as the Tbilisi delivery track record builds.
What You'll Do
You'll onboard into codebase, toolchain, and team rituals within 2 months and start delivering reviewed PRs independently
You'll ship your first self-owned feature to production with full test coverage and zero critical post-release bugs within 3 months
You'll drive architecture decisions for the mobile codebase: state management (BLoC / Riverpod) and modular architecture, articulated and defended in team reviews
You'll lead end-to-end delivery of at least 3 major features (design, QA, App Store / Play Store release) within 12 months
You'll keep crash-free rate at or above 99.5% across all owned features and respond to production incidents within SLA
You'll mentor at least 1 junior or mid-level engineer joining the Tbilisi mobile track, with measurable improvement in PR review turnaround and feature ownership within 9 months
You'll contribute to CI/CD improvements (build time, test reliability, deployment automation), including signing automation across iOS and Android
You'll act as a reliable async collaboration partner across DE, Lisbon, and Tbilisi
What You Bring
Must-haves
5+ years of Flutter or comparable mobile experience, with deep working knowledge of widget lifecycle, performance bottlenecks, and custom rendering
Personally debugged a non-trivial production crash using Flutter DevTools and resolved it without senior support
Production-scale BLoC or Riverpod implementation across multiple features. You can explain tradeoffs vs. competing approaches and point to architectural changes that measurably improved maintainability
Track record of submitting and maintaining apps on both App Store and Play Store across multiple release cycles, with platform-specific signing and review fluency
Hands-on REST API integration plus Firebase (Firestore, Auth, FCM) experience, plus Node.js or comparable backend awareness
Testing discipline: unit, widget, and integration tests by default, with at least one production regression you personally caught through test coverage
Demonstrated remote async collaboration across at least 2 timezones, with PR, Jira, and Confluence quality that removes sync follow-up
Mentorship track record with junior or mid-level mobile engineers, ideally remotely
Business-fluent English (daily working language across all sites)
Tbilisi-based or willing to relocate, with sustainable 5-hour CET overlap commitment
Nice-to-haves
Modularisation leadership on an existing Flutter codebase
Open-source contributions to Flutter or Dart packages
Experience as a senior anchor in a hub or site that was being built from scratch
Background spanning Flutter and native iOS or native Android (where escalation paths required it)
Your Team
You'll report directly to the Director Development & Technology, with day-to-day pairing with the Germany-based Flutter team and the Tbilisi Senior Backend Anchor. You'll join the Development Team as the Tbilisi mobile seat and be the senior reference point for mobile engineering locally.

Ready to Apply?
Send your application via Ashby. A cover letter is optional, but a concrete example of a Flutter feature you owned end-to-end (first line of code through App Store release, what broke, how you handled it) is required. Public links (App Store, Play Store, GitHub) very welcome.
