Power Electronic Systems Engineer Technologist - Data Center Power Architecture

Posted 3 months ago

OfficeZaragoza, Spain100k - 130k EUR
Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.

We’re looking for a Power Electronic Systems Engineer Technologist to lead the architecture and design of next-generation data center power systems, focused on 48V and emerging 800V bus infrastructures, AI rack power delivery, and high-efficiency HVDC distribution.

This is a hands-on, system-level engineering role requiring deep expertise in high-power conversion, rack-scale integration, and data center power ecosystems. The position includes direct customer engagement and field collaboration to support deployment, validation, and production integration. Taking customer requirements and translating them into engineering

### Responsibilities
  • Architect rack-level and facility-level power systems for data centers, including 48V and 800V bus infrastructures and HVDC distribution architectures from conception to production.
  • Design high-efficiency AC-DC front ends, DC-DC converters, and power distribution networks optimized for AI and high-performance computing environments.
  • Perform system modeling, simulation, and validation (efficiency, thermal behavior, transient response, stability) and design high-power test platforms for rack-scale verification including system optimization for power density, efficiency, and reliability under real data center operating conditions.
  • Develop system schematics and high-power PCB layouts, addressing parasitics, thermal performance, EMI/EMC, and power density optimization.
  • Lead system integration, prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, reliability testing and customer-facing deployment activities, including on-site technical validation and support.
  • ### Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of experience designing high-power data center or industrial power systems.
  • Proven experience with data center power architectures, including 48V distribution and/or HVDC systems.
  • Strong expertise in high-efficiency AC-DC and DC-DC converter design for high-power applications.
  • Experience working with advanced power devices (Si, SiC, GaN) in high-density systems and hands-on experience in high-voltage/high-current lab environments. Familiarity with digital control and embedded systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with power electronics simulation and design tools (SPICE, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, Altium or equivalent EDA tools). Strong thermal design and EMI/EMC knowledge required.
  • Diamond Foundry believes in supporting our employees from the workplace to their personal and home life. We provide eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Perks include employee discounts to VRAI. All benefits offered are available starting your first day.

Diamond Foundry is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.
