Position Overview
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, monitoring, and control of project performance metrics for TerraPower’s innovative nuclear energy projects, including Natrium reactor development. This role ensures alignment with organizational goals, project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The Specialist will collaborate across departments to maintain data accuracy, enhance reporting, and streamline project execution within TerraPower’s controlled systems, including Atom workflows and Agile based planning processes.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling
- Analyzing and supporting detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or other scheduling tools, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deliverables.
- Collaborate with CAMs (Control Account Managers) and team leads to establish baseline schedules and resource assignments.
- Conduct schedule health checks, including the evaluation of float, critical paths, and sequencing logic.
- Performance Monitoring and Analysis
- Track and analyze project performance metrics, including cost, schedule, and earned value (𝐸𝑉).
- Prepare variance analyses and forecasts, identifying areas of risk and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Support the generation of burndown charts for action item tracking and progress monitoring.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Generate regular reports and dashboards for project leadership, including
- KPIs, milestones, and action trackers.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with project controls workflows.
- Facilitate project reviews, including Schedule Reviews and data reviews.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with the PMO team, project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless coordination.
- Provide guidance and training to project teams on project controls processes and tools.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, and cost management, preferably in engineering or construction.
- Familiarity with advanced project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in CPM scheduling and Primavera P6 software.
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparing, monitoring, and reporting schedule information in engineering, procurement, and construction environments.
- Advanced knowledge of project management tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to review, analyze, and present planning and scheduling products independently using professional judgment.
- Additional Requirements:
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screens and background checks, including verification of employment, education, and travel history.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Salary Range Level 8: $87,686 - $131,529
Salary Range Level 9: $102,804- $155,206
* We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
