Compensation: Starting at $60,000 annually, with higher compensation available based on qualifications and experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Development Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and enhancement of electrical power distribution and protection products. This position plays a key role in bringing new products and product improvements from concept through prototype and production while collaborating with multiple departments across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical design, 3D modeling, prototype development, and manufacturing support. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering projects while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

### Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Engineering

• Develop mechanical designs and engineering documentation for new and existing power distribution and protection products.
• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Support the design and development of products including switchboards, power distribution equipment, and related electrical enclosures.
• Participate in engineering reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product performance, manufacturability, and quality.
• Implement design revisions and improvements based on review outcomes and testing results.

Prototype Development & Validation

• Design, release, and support the fabrication of prototype components and assemblies.
• Coordinate prototype evaluation activities and identify opportunities for product enhancements.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts resulting from prototype testing and validation.
• Support testing initiatives and assist with fixture design when required.

Project Ownership

• Manage smaller-scale engineering projects independently from concept through completion.
• Coordinate engineering activities to ensure project milestones, timelines, and objectives are achieved.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• • Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, service, and other departments to ensure designs support business and customer requirements.
  • Assist with product customization initiatives and engineering change processes.
  • Support product lifecycle management activities, including updates, optimization efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Contribute to design-for-manufacturing initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance.

### Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum of two years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

### Preferred Qualifications:

Experience designing products for electrical power distribution, power protection, or related industries.

Familiarity with data center infrastructure products and applications.

Working knowledge of electrical safety and compliance standards, including UL and IEC requirements.

Two or more years of experience using SolidWorks for mechanical design and modeling.

Experience performing thermal and structural evaluations within a CAD environment.

Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

Knowledge of sheet metal design principles, detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and design-for-manufacturing practices.

Technical writing experience.

Experience designing or supporting test fixtures.

Experience with switchboards, power distribution units (PDUs), and industrial control panels.

Familiarity with standards such as UL 891 and UL 508.
