ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions for complex, large-scale programming projects in Austin, TX.

The Consultant shall be responsible for creating automated test scripts, establishing testing priorities, and building robust execution plans. The ideal candidate is a technical expert who can write and debug complex code, analyze applications for regression suites, and optimize software for maximum operating efficiency. You will collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical teams, ensuring our software applications meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Automation & Scripting: Design and implement automated test scenarios by writing, debugging, and maintaining complex software code and automated testing scripts.
  • Test Planning & Strategy: Coordinate and author comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data; prepare and manage complex test environments.
  • Execution & Analysis: Prioritize test scenarios and establish execution plans. Perform functional, application, and deep regression testing for large-scale applications.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Design detailed documentation for automated processes, including verification procedures, system diagrams, and management reports.
  • Business Integration: Analyze proposed applications, interpret requirement documents, and adapt testing procedures to align with the customer’s business goals and operational needs.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with clients and cross-functional teams throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) to ensure smooth delivery and alignment.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Requirements (Required)

  • 8 years of experience designing automated tests and creating automated test scripts.
  • 8 years of experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating strategic execution plans.
  • 8 years of experience developing test plans, test cases, and preparing test environments.
  • 8 years of experience performing moderately complex functional, application, and regression testing.
  • 8 years of deep knowledge regarding the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and standard software development methodologies.
  • 8 years of experience interpreting requirement documents and meticulously updating test documentation.
  • 8 years of strong familiarity with analysis, planning, and management reporting functions.
  • 8 years of proven ability to acquire deep knowledge of the customer's business domain and work directly with them during test cycles.
  • 8 years of exceptional analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and oral/written communication skills.
  • 8 years of demonstrated success working across technical and non-technical groups while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • 2 years of experience with the Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and official document templates.
  • 2 years of familiarity with corporate information architecture and information management methodologies.
  • 2 years of familiarity with global, regional, and local software architecture, infrastructure components, and planned technology roadmaps.
