About the Role
As a UAS Operations Specialist, you’ll be part of our flight operations team supporting commercial drone delivery and advanced UAS operations. You will take on responsibilities as Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC), ground operations support, and field maintenance, while ensuring all activities align with FAA regulations and aviation best practices.
This role blends hands-on flight operations, aircraft servicing, troubleshooting, and documentation, keeping you close to real-world missions and operational decision-making. You’ll work in dynamic environments—flying missions, preparing aircraft, resolving technical issues, and contributing to procedures that enable safe, scalable, and repeatable delivery operations.
You’ll be joining a team that’s helping shape the future of autonomous delivery through disciplined operations, regulatory rigor, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as an RPIC & Maintenance repairman to ensure safe, compliant flight operations under the direction of the Flight Operations Lead, Assistant Chief Pilot, and Chief Pilot.
- Support daily operational readiness through pre- and post-flight inspections, battery management, equipment preparation, and aircraft configuration & airworthiness.
- Perform field-level servicing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on aircraft, ground systems, communications links, and support equipment.
- Provide ground and vehicle support, including transportation, staging, setup, recovery, and repositioning of aircraft and systems.
- Identify, verify, and document delivery zones and operational areas to support safe, repeatable missions.
- Support commercial flight operations following FAA regulations, company procedures, and manuals.
- Create and manage maintenance tickets, logs, and records to document discrepancies, corrective actions, and return-to-service records.
- Assist with aircraft logistics between operational sites, or maintenance locations when servicing cannot be completed on site.
- Operate in outdoor environments with extended periods of standing, equipment handling, and exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, dust, cold, wind, rain).
- Maintain flexibility with schedules, including early mornings, late afternoons, and variable hours driven by flight operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document observations, surface risks, and support continuous operational improvement.
- Participate in required FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing programs, including pre-employment drug screening and ongoing testing, as this position is considered safety-sensitive under applicable company and regulatory requirements, including 14 CFR Part 120.
You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…
- Operate drones as part of commercial delivery and autonomous system development.
- Apply strong aviation fundamentals in real-world operational environments.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve system safety, reliability, and performance.
- Gain hands-on experience in Part 135–aligned UAS operations, supporting scalable, FAA-compliant delivery systems.
- Contribute to the future of drone delivery through curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive operational mindset.
We’re Excited About You Because…
- You’re Certified and Experienced:
You hold a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, Drone Repair Certificate, and have significant commercial flight experience, including operating in complex or mission-critical environments. - You Have Strong Aviation Fundamentals:
You understand FAA regulations, airspace, risk management, and operational compliance, and can apply regulatory requirements during live operations. - You’re Hands-On with Maintenance & Servicing:
You have experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting, with exposure to repairman-style responsibilities. - You Document with Discipline:
You’re experienced in creating tickets, logs, and documentation that support traceability, audits, and continuous improvement. - You’re Procedurally Minded:
You can create, follow, and apply procedures, and you’ve contributed to SOPs, manuals, or operational guidance based on real-world experience. - You Collaborate Well:
You work effectively with pilots, maintenance teams, and leadership to support safe and efficient operations.
