Job Summary
We’re hiring a highly skilled Lead Laminator / Floater to be a utility player in our fiberglass lamination department.
In this pivotal role, you’ll be the go-to expert who can do it all—seamlessly jumping in wherever needed to keep production moving without missing a beat. Whether it’s running the chop gun, applying flawless gel coat, executing detailed patch and P&I work, color matching, or sanding, your versatility is the engine that keeps our line running. You won't just be filling gaps; you’ll be setting the gold standard for craftsmanship on the shop floor.

- Monday - Thursday | 5:00am - 3:30pm
Responsibilities
- Versatile Execution: Act as the department's premier floater, seamlessly transitioning between stations to cover high absenteeism or production bottlenecks.
- Technical Lamination: Operate resin spray equipment (chop gun/gun running) and expertly lay and roll fiberglass materials (chop/mat, biaxial, woven fabrics, foam) into decks, hulls, and liners.
- Gel Coat & Color Matching: Apply gel coat with precision, incorporating flake and executing exact color matching for flawless, premium finishes.
- Patch & P&I: Perform expert cosmetic and structural fiberglass patching, alongside thorough prep and inspection (P&I) duties.
- Finishing & Sanding: Shape, cut, grind, sand, and finish fiberglass components to meet stringent luxury marine standards.
- Leading by Example: Set the shop-floor standard for quality, safety, and efficiency, indirectly mentoring the team through your high-level, hands-on craftsmanship.
- Process Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the engineering team to launch new products, navigate custom deviations, and identify ways to improve department efficiency.
- Quality Control: Maintain a sharp eye for both internal and customer-facing quality anomalies, addressing and correcting issues on the spot.

Qualifications
Required
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on lamination experience in the marine industry.
- Versatility: Proven ability to act as a utility player, highly proficient in all major fiberglass processes (gun running, rolling, gel coating, patching, P&I, and sanding).
- Cosmetic Expertise: Strong, demonstrable skills in exacting color matching, flake application, and high-end cosmetic finishing.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify structural or cosmetic issues promptly and implement effective, high-quality repairs on the fly.
