We are looking for dedicated employees who have their Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) credential or are interested in pursuing their Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) credential. The RBT® credential is a professional credential for paraprofessionals offered through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The RBT® credential is required for individuals providing services on any Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or insurance-based contracts in Hawaii. This position includes working 1:1 with children and young adults diagnosed with autism in Hawaii Island School Districts. BAYADA will provide your training as well as provide extensive supervision.

Hilo

Mt View

Laupahoehoe

Waimea

Kohala

Kona

And the surrounding areas

Flexible Scheduling:

  • Part time positions available
  • Shifts available Monday through Friday
  • Most shifts are between 7:30am and 3:30pm
  • Work in your neighborhood or commute for more hours

Qualifications for a School-Based Behavior Technician:

  • Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT® ) Certified or the desire to pursue certification (Training provided by BAYADA)

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR Passage of the ParaPro Praxis assessment (BAYADA assistance available)

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams. Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families

  • Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment

  • Document interventions and progress towards goals

  • Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan

  • Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals

  • Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine

  • Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
