The Adjacent Offline Payments Business Team plays a critical role in helping merchants grow and manage their businesses using simple, scalable, and data-driven payment solutions.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Area Sales Manager (ASM) – Adjacent Offline Payments Business, you will be responsible for driving business growth across your assigned territory by leading field sales teams and expanding merchant acquisition and engagement activities on a day-to-day basis.
You will drive sales across EDC Machines, Soundbox, Payment Gateway, EMI (Bank/Brand Activations), and Merchant Loans while strengthening merchant engagement and ensuring consistent growth in transaction volumes.
This role demands a strong mix of leadership, on-ground execution, and strategic thinking to scale business across multiple locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Management
• Identify and attract high-quality sales talent.
• Inspire, guide, and empower sales executives to achieve targets.
• Foster a positive and high-performance sales culture.
• Coach team members, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
Market Expansion
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Drive merchant acquisition for EDC/POS terminals and financial payment solutions.
Merchant Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants.
• Understand merchant needs and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Conduct regular merchant engagement activities.
Sales Target Achievement
• Consistently achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
• Drive EDC/POS deployments, merchant activations, EMI transactions, and device-level revenue.
Product Expertise
• Develop expertise across EDC/POS terminals, payment gateways, and value-added services.
• Stay updated with industry trends.
• Act as a trusted advisor and problem solver for merchants.
Sales Cycle Management
• Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to closure.
• Handle prospecting, qualification, presentations, negotiations, and deal closures.
Market Intelligence
• Gather and analyze competitor activities and market feedback.
• Provide actionable insights to improve sales strategies.
• Coordinate closely with Growth teams and NSM.
Reporting & Analysis
• Provide accurate forecasts, reports, and market insights.
• Own monthly planning and target delivery aligned with AOP.
• Monitor inventory utilization and aging.
• Review field sales payouts and productivity metrics.
• Conduct weekly planning and performance reviews with ASMs and Team Leads.
• Ensure timely communication and execution of training programs, incentive schemes, payouts, and EMI activations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Sales Excellence, Growth, Sales Operations, and Merchant Support teams.
• Ensure smooth merchant onboarding and service delivery.
Field Leadership & Ownership
• Follow a 75% field and 25% office engagement model.
• Conduct regular field visits and daily team connect sessions.
• Drive execution through gate meetings, field discipline, and compliance.
• Take ownership of merchant portfolio growth and field engagement outcomes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 7+ years of leadership experience in Field Distribution Sales within EDC/POS, Fintech, FMCD, or Insurance Sales.
• Proven ability to build and manage high-performing sales teams.
• Experience in setting and tracking sales targets.
• Strong capability in conducting daily, weekly, and monthly sales reviews.
• Ability to identify and implement strategies to improve customer engagement.
• Experience handling assigned territories and driving business growth.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
EDUCATION
Graduation or Post-Graduation (10+2+3).
