Coordinator, Radio Fleet

Reporting to the Director, Telecoms Engineering, the Coordinator, Radio Fleet is LA28’s daytoday lead for managing the programming, inventory, and operational mapping of two-way radio devices and communication systems across all Olympic and Paralympic venues. This role owns the endtoend process for Planning, assignment, and support for the Radio Fleetmaps, while coordinating with Various FA’s to support a wirelessfirst, secure, and sustainable Games.

The Coordinator translates the Director’s wirelessfirst strategy into executable venuelevel plans and SLAs—balancing innovation with operational reliability—so that MCPPT network coexists without harmful interference and deliver the performance the Games require.

Key Responsibilities:

Radio Programming & Mapping

  • Develop, maintain, and update the radio Fleetmap, including talkgroup assignments, alias updates, and software/firmware upgrades.

Database Management

  • Maintain accurate databases of all radio equipment, radio IDs, and user assignments, tracking both portable and mobile units..

Inventory & Maintenance

  • Coordinate installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of radio equipment and accessories.

Security & Risk Management

  • Embed security principles in RF operations and mobile deployments; maintain risk registers and contingency plans.

Stakeholder Collaboration Support and Training

  • Work closely with MCPPT user groups such as broadcaster, results team, venue operations, cybersecurity, and technology integrator to align MCPPT requirements. Provide technical consulting, troubleshooting support and training for users on equipment operation and proper radio etiquette.

Post-Games Legacy

  • Identify opportunities for sustainable RF and mobile infrastructure reuse.

Background & Requirements:

  • Familiarity with digital and analog land mobile radio systems, and trunking radio systems in large-scale events or telecom environments.
  • Experience with database applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and specific radio programming software.
  • Delivering under tight timelines and high-pressure environments with multiple stakeholders.

Education:

  • Preferred education Associate's degree in Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Vocational training in radio electronics or equivalent technical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments during test events and Games-time.
  • Frequent travel to multiple venues for inspections and operational support.
  • Flexibility for extended hours, shift work, and weekends during peak operational periods.
  • Ability to lift and handle portable RF equipment (up to 25 lbs) and perform basic setup tasks in field conditions.

The annual base salary range for this position is $27.40 - $33.65/hour. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
