Role Summary and Impact
This role is within Media Futures Group, a leading brand within WPP Media.
Media Futures Group (MFG) is a bespoke global agency solution designed for Google, one of WPP Media’s largest global clients. Headquartered out of New York and operating out of the WPP and WPP Media umbrella, the team specialises in integrated data-driven media, creative strategy and digital marketing with a focus on AI-driven advertising and managing Google’s marketing initiatives.
We are seeking a highly experienced, resilient, and emotionally intelligent Vice President of Client Operations to architect and elevate our operational and commercial framework across the Asia-Pacific region.
Based in our Singapore APAC Headquarters, the VP of Client Operations is the operational backbone of our regional client business. You will oversee a dynamic region with a primary focus on Australia, China, Japan, India, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore and oversee a team of ~450 professionals.
As a key strategic partner to the APAC Client President, you will lead, motivate, and mentor a specialised team of 15 operations professionals. Your mandate is to drive commercial profitability, engineer flawless campaign workflows (with a strong focus on AI integration), and champion operational effectiveness across diverse and complex markets.
Responsibilities
Commercial Management & Strategy
- Own, craft, and execute the regional commercial agreements and strategies.
- Balance the delivery of the client’s business goals with the agency’s requirements for financial stability, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations and ensure staffing plans and resource models are financially viable and optimised.
Workflow Management & Risk Mitigation
- Architect and oversee the end-to-end campaign delivery process across the APAC region, ensuring adherence to global best practices.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate revenue risks, operational bottlenecks, and campaign incidents.
- Drive the integration of AI tools and automation into daily workflows to future-proof campaign execution.
Operational Effectiveness & Innovation
- Continuously identify and strategise new, agile ways of working that deliver tangible time savings and elevated output.
- Streamline the existing team structures and processes without compromising the agency’s commercial performance or the quality of client deliverables.
- Lead regional change management initiatives, ensuring local markets adopt and thrive under new operational frameworks.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a regional team of 15 operations specialists, fostering a culture of high performance, positivity, and continuous improvement.
- Navigate a highly matrixed global organisation, aligning regional operational realities with global strategic directives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Commercial Health: Achievement of regional profitability targets, margin growth, and successful commercial renewals.
- Operational Excellence: Measurable reduction in campaign incidents/errors and the successful deployment of time-saving, AI-driven workflow automations.
- Team & Leadership: High team retention, positive employee engagement scores, and the successful resolution of market-level escalations.
- Client Satisfaction: Elevated client evaluation scores pertaining to agency operations, agility, and resource management.
Skills and Experience
- 15+ years of senior-level experience within media agencies, managing operations for large, multi-national clients.
- Deep understanding of the APAC media landscape and the nuances of operating across diverse cultural markets.
