We are looking for a Research Associate to become part of our Emerging Market Equities team. The main responsibility of this position is to assist in researching and analyzing the business and financial status of companies in India. This involves assessing cash flows, balance sheets, and income statements, gathering data from various sources, and building financial models.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?
- Work closely with senior research analysts to carry out comprehensive research, assess equity investment opportunities, and evaluate stocks and sectors.
- Engage in discussions with company management, industry experts, and conduct channel checks along with research analysts.
- Support the fundamental analysis of publicly listed companies across various sectors in India.
- Compile financial statement databases and assist in analyzing relevant investment data for assigned companies.
- Create detailed financial models, research reports, and actionable insights for the companies under coverage.
- Communicate analysis and recommendations to the research and investment team through written and oral presentations, providing regular updates on any revisions to forecasts or recommendations.
- Examine and interpret economic developments, macroeconomic trends, and political factors affecting the assigned coverage.
- Stay informed about the global investment environment, market conditions, and economic trends.
What qualifications, skills, and experience would contribute to success in this role?
- 3-7 years of research or investment experience with a solid understanding of the Indian market. CFA certification or an equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- Proficiency in fundamental research, quantitative analysis, and evaluation of financial statements.
- Expertise in constructing and interpreting financial models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly self-driven, detail-focused, and capable of working independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and Bloomberg terminal.
