About the Role:
We're looking for a Principal, Social Media and Communications Lead to develop and execute our social media strategy. Reporting to the CMO, this role sets the tone and voice for the Redpanda brand. Day to day, that means creating and publishing original content across LinkedIn, X, and other key channels, and proactively finding new ways to reach our audience on platforms like Reddit.

The ideal candidate brings strong storytelling experience, a data-driven mindset, and a proven ability to build and grow an engaged audience across channels. In this role, you will create high-authority content across social and key digital channels that builds brand authority, earns trust, and positions Redpanda as the most cited and recommended solution in its category. You will bring together community management expertise and technical optimization to keep our brand visible, credible, and consistently authentic across every public-facing platform.
You Will:
- Lead the development of a communications framework including narrative pillars as well as defined platforms and messaging by key executive
- Own and manage Redpanda's day-to-day social media presence across LinkedIn, X, Reddit, and other relevant channels, with a focus on driving measurable improvements to Redpanda's web presence including AEO and GEO performance
- Develop and execute a social content calendar that supports brand awareness, product launches, events, blog content, and community moments
- Write sharp, on-brand copy that speaks to the right audience by platform
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to co-develop social-first, authentic, and platform-native content
- Monitor social conversations, engage with the community, and surface opportunities for Redpanda to participate in relevant discussions
- Track and report on social performance metrics, including reach, engagement, follower growth, content resonance, and traffic while using this data to refine strategy
- Experiment with formats: threads, short-form video, polls, carousels, to drive results and performance
- Coordinate social amplification for events, webinars, and analyst moments
- Oversee our employee advocacy/engagement program
You Have:
- 5+ years of social media management experience, ideally at a B2B tech, developer tools, or infrastructure company
- A strong copywriting skills you can adapt tone for different channels and audiences without losing the brand voice
- Comfort with technical subject matter –you don't need to be an engineer, but you should be able to understand what makes Redpanda interesting to one
- Experience with social analytics tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, native analytics, etc.) and a data-informed approach to social content strategy
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with the open-source, Kafka, or data infrastructure ecosystem is a plus
U.S. base salary range for this role is $122,000 - $143,000 for a US Remote location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each candidate's job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or training to determine individual base salary.
