Product Analytics Lead

SumUp

Posted about 4 hours ago

The Manage My Money (MMM) team builds the financial tools that help merchants stay on top of their money - from business banking and card products to lending, invoicing, and integrated financial insights. It's one of SumUp's fastest-growing areas, operating across Europe and Latin America, and it generates some of our most complex and consequential data.

This role exists because we need an accountable owner for this data product portfolio - defining what gets built, ensuring models are accurate, well-tested, and well-documented, and acting as the connective tissue between product, engineering, and analytics teams globally.

The infrastructure exists, the team is in place, and the domain is genuinely complex - what's missing is you - a single owner with the mandate to shape it.

What you'll do

  • Own the MMM data product portfolio end-to-end - defining what gets built, setting the release cadence, and ensuring models stay accurate as the product evolves
  • Lead and develop a team of data analysts, creating an environment where quality is the norm, testing is automated, and continuous improvement is expected
  • Act as the connective tissue between product, engineering, and analytics - translating business needs into well-structured data models and communicating clearly in both directions
  • Drive hands-on data modelling work, expanding dbt test coverage and improving the reliability and governance of our datamarts across EU and LATAM markets
  • Review and evolve our existing KPI framework, identifying gaps and ensuring dashboards reflect the metrics that actually matter to the business.
  • Advise business line leadership on data trends and patterns, and support business strategy decisions and narratives with data analysis, visualizations and forecasts.
  • Establish a clear, communicated long-term data strategy for MMM, moving the team from reactive to proactive

You'll be great for this role if…

  • Proven end-to-end ownership of data models or analytical products, from requirements gathering through to release and ongoing governance
  • Strong analytical judgement - able to assess data model quality, and make sound architectural decisions, and distinguish between what's good enough and what's a genuine risk to the business
  • Experience leading or mentoring analytical teams, with the ability to balance hands-on execution with stepping back to set direction
  • Hands-on expertise in dbt, SQL, and data warehouse environments
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, with the ability to translate data complexity and business reality into clear recommendations, actions, and narratives.
