Operational Systems Specialist

Job Description

As our Operational Systems Specialist at Youfoodz, you will drive operational excellence by leading the development, deployment, and optimization of core manufacturing (MFG) and inventory (IMP) systems. You'll serve as the central owner of our software roadmap, translating complex business requirements into technical solutions while managing change strategies to ensure data integrity, user adoption, and continuous operational uptime.

This role is based at our Karawatha, Brisbane facility and reports to the National Planning and Supply Manager.

You will...

• Lead the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for core manufacturing and inventory systems, from initial analysis and scope definition through to QA and deployment.
• Own the strategic roadmap for operational systems, identifying opportunities for tech enhancements that align with our evolving business goals.
• Manage the integration of third-party software and oversee feature releases, ensuring they are scoped accurately and delivered on time.
• Direct investigations and resolve critical system bugs to minimize downtime, acting as the central point of contact during technical outages.
• Design and execute comprehensive change management strategies and communications to ensure smooth software rollouts for frontline teams.
• Create and deliver engaging training programs (both in-person and via 360Learning) to drive sustained user adoption.
• Maintain strict data integrity for the Traceability System (recipes, SKUs, and WIP data) and lead internal audits for mock recalls.
• Partner with IT and Network Infrastructure teams to lead the operational rollout of network improvements and manage physical/digital assets.

You have...

• 3-5+ years of experience in a hybrid Operations/Technology role, working directly with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or ERPs.
• Proven experience acting as a Product Owner or Business Analyst—defining requirements, writing user stories, and managing QA/UAT.
• A strong background in a manufacturing, FMCG, or supply chain environment with an understanding of production workflows (WIP, SKUs, recipes) and physical inventory control.
• Demonstrated success leading software rollouts to large, non-technical teams and designing effective communication plans to overcome user resistance.
• Experience managing incidents and acting as the operational lead during critical system outages or high-pressure technical events.
• A natural ability to bridge the gap between technical teams (Developers/IT) and business functions (Finance, Operations), translating technical jargon into clear business language.
