Construction Project Manager (Level I or II)

Compensation:
- Level I: Starting at $95,000+ (based on experience)
- Level II: Starting at $110,000+ (based on experience)
Overview
An expanding construction organization is seeking Project Managers at both early-career and experienced levels to support a range of commercial, institutional, and public-sector projects. These roles are responsible for managing projects from initial planning and estimating through construction and final closeout.
Work may include renovations, infrastructure upgrades, IDIQ contracts, design/build delivery, lump-sum engagements, and accelerated project schedules.
### Role Scope by Level
Level I (Project Manager I)
Best suited for professionals managing smaller or less complex projects, with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day execution and supporting overall project delivery.
Typical Background:
- 4–7 years of construction project management experience with a degree
or 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree
- Experience working with subcontractors and/or self-performed scopes
- Exposure to government-related work is beneficial
Level II (Project Manager II)
Designed for individuals leading larger, more complex projects with greater responsibility for strategy, financial performance, and client coordination.
Typical Background:
- 7–10 years of project management experience with a degree
or 15+ years of related experience without a degree
- Experience with design/build delivery, value engineering, and advanced project controls
- Strong familiarity with government or negotiated contract environments preferred
### Primary Responsibilities
Lead projects through all phases, including estimating, planning, execution, and closeout
Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and project buyout activities
Develop and update project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
Monitor schedule progress and address delays or critical path impacts
Prepare estimates, pricing adjustments, and change orders
Conduct site visits to evaluate safety, quality, and overall progress
Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements
Facilitate project meetings and maintain clear documentation and reporting
Oversee financial performance, including billing, cost tracking, and vendor payments
Identify constructability concerns and support value engineering solutions
Ensure adherence to contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations
Support safety, environmental, and quality control programs
Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development as applicable
Participate in networking and professional growth opportunities
### Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Equivalent construction experience may be considered in place of a degree
Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices and project execution
Experience with scheduling, estimating, subcontract management, and cost control
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Valid driver’s license with a clean record
Ability to work on active job sites, including climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs
### Preferred Experience & Certifications
Experience supporting government construction projects
Familiarity with IDIQ, JOC, design/build, and fast-track delivery methods
Line-item estimating experience
OSHA 30 certification
First Aid and CPR certifications
USACE/NAVFAC CQC certification (preferred)
Professional credentials such as AC, CPC, or PE are highly valued
