Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies-from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups-use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the Local Processor Acquiring team
Stripe is building a global payments and treasury network-and Local Processor Acquiring (LPA) is how we're rapidly extending that network into the world's fastest-growing markets. The LPA team sits within Global Selling, focused on enabling businesses to accept payments from billions of consumers worldwide without needing to set up local operations.
The problem we're solving is fundamental: the most important payment methods in emerging markets-Korean wallets, PIX in Brazil, UPI in India, QRIS in Indonesia-require local acquiring capabilities that historically took years of work and infrastructure investment to build. Meanwhile, businesses are scaling globally at unprecedented speed and can't wait.
LPA changes the equation entirely. By partnering with best-in-class local processors, we can launch a new market in weeks rather than years-delivering local payment methods, higher authorization rates, and dramatically better conversion for cross-border businesses. Since launching in South Korea, we've seen users grow their daily KRW transaction count by over 200% and our data shows >6% increase in conversion uplift when local payment methods are enabled.
What you'll do
You will own and drive the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Local Processor Acquiring, defining how Stripe expands into new markets at unprecedented speed. You'll be responsible for building a product that makes local payment methods from emerging markets as seamless and reliable as any other payment method on Stripe, while navigating complex regulatory environments, partner relationships, and deeply different local payment ecosystems.
This role sits at the intersection of global strategy, complex money movement, partner management, and developer experience. You will need to go extremely deep-understanding the nuances of each market's regulations, payment methods, consumer behaviors, and technical constraints-then translate that complexity into elegant product experiences that work for businesses of all sizes.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product strategy for LPA across multiple markets-from partner selection and integration architecture to buyer UX, merchant activation, and product interoperability with Connect, Billing, Radar, and Terminal.
- Deeply understand each market's payment ecosystem-local payment methods, regulatory requirements, consumer preferences, and competitive dynamics-and use that knowledge to drive prioritization and sequencing decisions.
- Set an ambitious roadmap and drive execution with a scrappy, high-velocity team across Engineering, Partnerships, Legal, Risk, and GTM. Break down the massive surface area of "launch a country" into tractable, shippable pieces.
- Be the best seller and marketer for the product-work directly with Sales to close strategic accounts, handle objections, build pitch materials, and drive adoption across existing Stripe users.
- Use data rigorously to measure impact and prioritize. Analyze conversion uplift, authorization rates, PIV growth, and margin to determine where to invest next and how to demonstrate ROI.
- Own partner relationships from a product perspective-define requirements, set performance SLAs, and drive partners to deliver experiences consistent with Stripe's quality bar.
- Champion the buyer and merchant experience-obsess over reducing redirects, improving checkout flows, and delivering conversion outcomes that match or exceed direct integrations, even when operating through partners.
- Navigate complex regulatory and compliance landscapes across multiple jurisdictions. Work closely with Legal, Policy, and Risk to find creative solutions that unlock markets while maintaining compliance.
- Collaborate deeply with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Partnerships, Legal, Risk, Sales, Account Management, and Operations.
- Discover new markets and segments (domestic acquiring, global platforms, Connect use cases) and lead them from nascent stages to maturity.
Who you are
You are a deeply technical, scrappy, data-driven PM who obsesses over solving problems end to end. You thrive in ambiguity-taking a complex, multi-market, multi-partner problem and breaking it down into clear milestones and shippable increments. You go deep to understand the regulatory constraints, the money flows, the partner dynamics, and the buyer psychology in each market, and you use that understanding to make high-conviction decisions quickly.
You care about craft and beauty-even when the underlying systems involve redirects, partner handoffs, and regulatory disclosures, you hold a high bar for the end-to-end experience. You believe that "good enough for a partner integration" is not good enough for Stripe.
You are AI native-you thoughtfully apply AI across your own work and think deeply about how AI can accelerate our ability to launch markets, build integrations, and scale operations. You act like a developer: you can read code, think in systems, and engage credibly with engineers on architecture and tradeoffs.
You display extreme ownership. You treat LPA as your business-caring deeply about its growth, its users, and its impact on Stripe's global footprint. You're the kind of person who will get on a call with a user in a different timezone, dig into a partner's API docs, write a SQL query to validate conversion hypotheses, and draft a launch plan in the same day.
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- 6+ years of experience in product management or engineering.
- Deeply technical-can think and act like a developer. Comfortable reading code, engaging on architecture decisions, and understanding complex distributed systems and money flows.
- Scrappy and high-ownership-treats the product as their own business, does whatever it takes to make it succeed across multiple markets simultaneously.
- Data-driven-can write SQL, analyze conversion funnels, measure partner performance, and use data to prioritize markets and features.
- User-obsessed-spends time with merchants and buyers, synthesizes feedback across segments, and translates insights into product direction.
- Cares about craft and beauty-holds a high bar for product quality and user experience even when operating through partner integrations and navigating regulatory constraints.
- Obsesses over solving the problem end to end-from partner integration to buyer checkout to merchant dashboard to settlement and payouts.
- Willing to go extremely deep to understand the complexities of each market-regulations, payment ecosystems, consumer behavior, partner capabilities, and competitive dynamics.
- Experience working with Sales and GTM teams-can act as the best seller and marketer for the product, tell a compelling story about market expansion, and drive adoption with strategic accounts.
- AI native-thoughtfully applies AI across their own work and our products to ship faster and operate more efficiently.
- Able to break down complex problems and systems into functional, shippable pieces-comfortable sequencing work across multiple markets and segments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems and clear strategic narratives.
- Has the ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with complex money movement, regulated spaces, or foreign exchange-particularly across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience managing external partnerships (processors, PSPs, acquirers, or other financial infrastructure partners) where product quality depends on partner performance.
- Experience building products in emerging markets or navigating diverse regulatory environments.
- Experience building brand new products or working in a startup-like environment within a larger company.
- Experience with payments infrastructure, local payment methods, or cross-border commerce.
- Experience working with Connect/marketplace models or multi-sided platforms.
- Conducting product market research and building buy-in for product ideas from internal stakeholders and leadership.
