Role
We are looking for a Global Senior Manager of Leave of Absence to join our Total Rewards team. This role is based in our San Jose, CA or Bellevue, WA offices (in office Tuesday-Thursday) or remotely in the US and reports to our Global Head of Benefits. As the Global Senior Manager of Leave of Absence, you will be the strategic architect and operational lead for our global leave and disability programs. In this high-impact role, you will design, implement, and scale leave policies that support a diverse, high-growth global workforce. You will ensure our programs remain market-competitive, legally compliant, and - most importantly - delivered with an "employee-first" philosophy that reflects our core values.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Design and standardize global leave frameworks that balance statutory requirements with company benefits, serving as the lead SME for complex ADA cases and regulatory consistency
- Manage Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) by enforcing SLAs, leading Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and conducting audits to ensure service excellence
- Oversee the end-to-end leave lifecycle, partnering with HRIS to automate tracking and ensure seamless integration across Workday, ServiceNow, and payroll systems
- Leverage analytics and dashboards to identify bottlenecks, automate manual tasks, and continuously improve program performance and the employee experience
- Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive global team by setting clear performance expectations and providing consistent career coaching and professional development
Who You Are (Success Profile)
- You are customer-obsessed. You build deep empathy for the customer—both internal and external—and anchor your decisions in solving their real-world problems. You champion their needs from start to finish, knowing their success is our success.
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. You adapt to what’s needed, navigating seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- You are a pragmatic builder. You are obsessed with creating, iterating, and shipping. You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and build the first version yourself, balancing the drive for technical excellence with the need to deliver value to users quickly.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
- You think at scale. You connect your day-to-day work to the larger company mission and think globally. You build solutions, processes, and teams that are not just effective today but are built to last and support a high-growth, global organization.
What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field and 8+ years of progressive experience in Benefits or Human Resources, with at least 5 years specifically focused on Global Leave of Absence and Disability administration
- 3+ years of direct people management experience, ideally leading distributed or global teams
- Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws (FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PFL) and a strong working knowledge of statutory leave systems in key international markets
- Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or large-scale enterprise environment
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Absence Management software, and case management systems
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Extensive experience managing statutory and supplemental leave programs across EMEA, APJ, and AMS, alongside a strong background in Health & Welfare, Retirement, and Wellness administration.Proven track record of leading large-scale change management initiatives, including transitioning global workforces to centralized TPA models and successfully integrating leave policies during Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Advanced proficiency in Absence Management systems with a demonstrated ability to leverage automation to scale global operations and replace manual processes
