
The work
As a Release Train Engineer, you will be responsible for orchestrating and optimizing the flow of value across multiple Agile teams within the SAP environment. You will facilitate key Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and ensure alignment between stakeholders, product owners, and development teams. Your role will involve tracking progress, managing risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency. You will also coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that releases are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Exposure to tools such as SAP Solution Manager, Agile project management platforms like Jira or Rally, and collaboration tools such as Confluence will be highly beneficial. Familiarity with Agile frameworks, including SAFe or Scrum, will help you navigate the complexities of large-scale software delivery. Experience leading Agile teams, managing schedules, and implementing process improvements will contribute to your success. A background in facilitating cross-team communication and resolving dependencies will further support your effectiveness in this role.
Additionally, this role will be an Agile / SaFE Coach to the program, both internal and external team members.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) processes and execution for SAP projects
- Coordinate and lead ART ceremonies, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and System
- Train team members, providing guidance and decision making for JIRA set up, and executing JIRA changes when needed
- Demos
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams to ensure alignment and delivery
- Identify and remove impediments to ART progress
- Track and communicate ART progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders
- Foster continuous improvement and Agile best practices within the SAP environment
- Support teams in delivering high-quality SAP solutions on schedule
- Ensure transparency and visibility of ART deliverables and timelines
- Provide Agile / SaFE coaching to the program team, both internal and external
Here’s what you need:
- 2+ years of SAP PI/PO or relevant system integration experience to support coordination and delivery across the SAP-focused Agile Release Train
- Knowledge of Agile and scaled frameworks to effectively orchestrate ART ceremonies and coach teams across the program
- Exposure to tools such as Jira, Rally, Confluence, and SAP Solution Manager to manage flow, track progress, and facilitate team coordination
- Experience facilitating PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, system demos, and supporting teams by removing impediments and driving continuous improvement
Nice to have:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
