About the team and position

Carvana is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Program Specialist to join our Learning and Development team and assist with the execution of talent and leadership programs. This position will work closely with the team’s Program Manager(s) as well as with other teams in People Operations and business leaders, to ensure the successful delivery of programs that support the development and growth of our employees and leaders.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a committed self-starter with keen attention to detail, and a focus on execution while living our values. This individual will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across the organization and see their insights have a tangible impact every day in an exciting and unique company.

This is an in-person role, Monday through Friday, at our corporate headquarters in Tempe, Arizona.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist in the execution of program curriculum(s) or supplemental training experiences that support Carvana’s evolving talent needs, including but not limited to onboarding, leadership development, internships, and internal mobility.
  • Specifically related to new hire onboarding program:
    • Ensure the effective communication of day-one details to new hires and leaders, as well as the procurement of necessary tools, technology, and applications, in advance of employment start date(s).
    • Coordinate and facilitate weekly new hire orientation with (often large group) new hire cohorts, conveying important company information and culture to engage and excite new team members at the onset of their Carvana journey, working with leadership to iterate orientation offerings as the company evolves.
  • Support the facilitation of content for instructor-led training events and assist with the development of self-service resources.
  • Collaborate with team members to support the creation of effective talent programming and materials to address identified gaps.
  • Assist with the design, creation, and management of lessons, courses, or programs in Workday Learning, Carvana’s Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Help manage, interpret, and develop reports that communicate results or trends to the team or business leaders.
  • Track the progress and successful completion of assigned programs and learning opportunities for all program participants.
  • Assist with the management and deployment of communications for talent programs through various channels.
  • Assist in providing guidance and follow-up to program participants and leaders of program participants.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment that garners valuable feedback, implements thoughtful changes, and drives behavior change.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of programs, processes, workflows, and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you should have

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution.
  • 2+ years of experience in program facilitation or management, Human Resources, Learning and Development (L&D), or a related field.
  • Experience with HR technology/HRIS systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assist with multiple projects and programs simultaneously while maintaining project timelines.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to assist with facilitation and presentations.
  • A high degree of integrity and honesty to handle sensitive or confidential information.
  • The energy and drive to accomplish goals, meet deadlines, and find solutions.
  • Must be able to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing organization.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience with Workday Learning.
  • Experience with Google Suite.
  • Experience in instructional design.
