Role Summary

Ontic is hiring a Software Engineer (Frontend) to contribute to the development of user interfaces that power our SaaS platform. This role is intended for engineers with solid foundations in frontend development who are growing into independent contributors.

You will work on building features end-to-end, improving user experience, and contributing to scalable and maintainable frontend systems. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality code, applying best practices, and collaborating effectively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

• Build and deliver frontend features using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS

• Translate product and design requirements into functional, high-quality UI components

• Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs

• Contribute to improving existing UI components and application flows

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering standards

• Participate actively in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers

• Apply best practices in component design, state management, performance, and accessibility

• Contribute to improving frontend architecture and development patterns

Learning & Technical Growth

• Deepen understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimization, and scalability

• Apply debugging and troubleshooting techniques across environments

• Stay up to date with modern frontend technologies and best practices

Collaboration

• Work closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver features

• Break down tasks and estimate work with reasonable accuracy

• Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly

Production Awareness

• Debug and resolve issues in development and production environments

• Monitor application performance and contribute to reliability improvements

• Work with logging and monitoring tools to identify and fix issues

Qualifications and Experiences

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience in frontend development

• Strong proficiency in Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

• Hands-on experience with React (or similar modern frontend frameworks) and TypeScript

• Solid understanding of core programming concepts, data structures, and problem-solving

• Experience working with REST APIs and asynchronous programming

• Familiarity with frontend architecture, state management, and component-driven development

• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative workflows

• Understanding of modern frontend tooling (build systems, bundlers, package managers)

• Experience debugging issues using browser developer tools

• Good understanding of performance optimization and responsive design

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Good to Have

• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library)

• Familiarity with design systems or component libraries

• Exposure to frontend performance monitoring tools

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployment environments

• Awareness of accessibility standards and best practices
