This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
Join our team as a SSD Flash Controller Architect and help define the future of data storage. This role is crucial for the successful integration of cutting-edge SSD flash controller silicon into our DirectFlash™ SSD Modules. You will serve as the technical leader and expert liaison, focusing on the controller's architecture, design trade-offs and validation to ensure seamless integration and high performance on Everpure DFM platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide deep architectural understanding of SSD flash controller designs, evaluating complex design trade-offs, and validating requirements against the vendor's silicon validation results.
- Partner with the firmware and hardware teams to establish DirectFlash Module (DFM) design guidelines, identifying early architectural gaps for new controllers.
- Be the primary technical expert communicating with vendor silicon teams, driving close the technical requirements and alignment between Everpure DFM engineering teams and the SoC vendors.
- Mitigate project risk by proactively analyzing controller documentation and specifications to address any lack of clarity or missing details.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Extensive experience as an controller SoC Architect or senior designer for high-performance SSD controllers, with a deep understanding of internal controller architecture, ASIC design, and silicon roadmaps.
- Strong hands-on experience with storage controller SoCs, including PCIe, DMA engines, security, and NAND interfaces, and the entire silicon lifecycle from architecture to validation.
- In-depth knowledge of NAND flash operation, error correction schemes (LDPC), and their implementation within the controller hardware.
- Proven ability to drive complex technical issues to resolution across internal and external engineering organizations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex silicon design details into actionable requirements for firmware and hardware teams.
- Background in embedded systems or firmware, sufficient to understand hardware/software interaction during controller bring-up.
