
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong capability across Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes to support a major network uplift and cloud infrastructure modernisation initiative at an an enterprise financial institution.
You will play a key role in delivering secure, compliant, and scalable cloud environments, while partnering closely with engineering teams to support their Kubernetes application needs. This role blends hands‑on cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices, with the opportunity to influence how the organisation evolves its cloud and network foundations.
Key Responsibilities
- Azure Network Delivery — Design and deliver workplace network solutions within Azure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with organisational standards.
- Cloud & Kubernetes Operations — Deploy and manage production systems on AWS and Kubernetes, maintaining high availability and operational excellence.
- Security & Compliance Alignment — Ensure all deployments meet strict security, governance, and compliance requirements expected in a regulated banking environment.
- Automation & Tooling — Write scripts, automation, and internal tooling to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- On‑Call Participation — Join an on‑call roster to support critical systems and ensure rapid response to incidents.
Skills & Experience
- Cloud Expertise — Strong working knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud services, architectures, and best practices.
- Kubernetes Deployment — Familiarity with deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes in production environments.
- Infrastructure as Code — Preference for managing systems using IaC principles and tooling.
- Tooling Experience — Hands‑on experience with Terraform, ArgoCD and/or Jenkins.
- Corporate Networking — Experience configuring VPNs, SSO, firewalls, and other enterprise network components.
- Compliance Mindset — Comfortable working within a regulated environment and navigating compliance‑driven constraints.
- Troubleshooting Ability — Strong diagnostic skills, particularly in networking and distributed systems.
- Delivery Approach — Able to deliver bank‑grade quality with the pragmatic, get‑it‑done mindset of a smaller, fast‑moving organisation.
