
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience developing software in one or more programming
languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, or Python). - 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects, including 5 years of people management experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing or maintaining security systems or endpoint agents.
- Ability to align multiple organisations on a common strategy and resolve conflicts as they arise.
- Ability to work effectively with teams and stakeholders across multiple time zones, specifically including Mountain View, New York, Zurich, and Sydney.
- Excellent team-work, organisational, and communication skills.

In this role, you will lead the team building next-generation security endpoint agents for Linux, Windows, macOS, and Cloud. Deployed across Google and Alphabet, your work will process large security event volumes with low latency and minimal user impact.
You will partner with Detection and Response, Detection and Response Platform, and Platform teams across Cloud and Production. As the security landscape evolves, You will evolve our strategy and structure the team to anticipate future security needs.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. Responsibilities
- Set the goals and manage the organisation building next-generation endpoint security agents for Linux, Windows, MacOS, and Cloud, protecting Alphabet machines from external and internal attacks.
- Define and execute a "buy, build, or partner" strategy, leveraging a combination of in-house software and industry-leading external tools to ensure fleet protection.
- Lead distributed teams in Zurich and Dublin, managing and coaching managers while hiring top talent to scale the organisation.
- Influence cross-organisational strategy, aligning multiple teams and ensuring technical prioritisation effectively addresses the developing threat model.
- Partner with Detection and Response and Platform teams across Cloud and Prod, applying operating system (OS) internals and security knowledge to drive cohesive defense strategies.
