Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads the engineering function within a metal fabrication environment, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost‑effective production processes. This role is responsible for managing manufacturing engineers, optimizing fabrication methods, supporting new product introductions, and driving continuous improvement across fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly operations.
The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with hands‑on technical expertise in metal fabrication and a data-driven approach to process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation
- Develop, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes for metal fabrication
- Lead lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze cycle times, labor standards, scrap, and rework to identify cost‑reduction opportunities
- Evaluate tooling, fixturing, equipment, and process requirements
- Support capital equipment justification, selection, and implementation
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers
- Implement process controls and capacity improvements to support growth
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of engineering, testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to effectively solve problems with diverse groups of people.
• Strong interpersonal, written communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively interface with engineers, managers, and customers.
• Well-developed leadership and planning skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to develop and coordinate activities of others and to focus on major project resources to ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and on budget.
Educational Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience Requirements
• Seven years of engineering experience.
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
